Irish businesses offered up to €2,500 to assist selling online
Businesses that may be eligible are encouraged to apply for the Trading Online Voucher Scheme to assist in digitalising their business and develop a sustainable strategy to increase sales. Due to its success, the scheme is back in 2023.
The scheme helps small businesses with up to ten employees to trade more online, boost sales and reach new markets. There is up to €2,500 available through local enterprise offices (LEO) with co-funding of 10% from the business – cutting the cost of developing your online trading capacity by up to 90%.
An extension has been granted to businesses that have already received a voucher. This allows you to upgrade your sites, build a new platform, or use the fund for digital marketing. Training and further business supports are also provided by local enterprise offices.
Funding can be used towards adding payment facilities and booking systems to your website or developing new apps for your customers. The voucher can also be used towards subscriptions to online retail platform solutions, to help companies establish a retail presence online.
The trading online voucher scheme has been announced by the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys.
Minister Humphreys said: “This package is a significant step-up in the support available for all businesses in all sectors at this very difficult time.”

The vouchers are targeted at businesses with the following criteria:
• Limited to no e-commerce presence.
• 10 or less employees.
• A turnover of less than two million.
• The applicants’ business must be trading for at least 6 months.
• Business must be located in the area covered by your local enterprise office, applications received outside of your LEO jurisdiction cannot be accepted.
